Professor Dr. Deborah Bernardo: "Insomnia or not getting enough sleep will definitely increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and directly harm brain function. Using sleeping pills only prolongs the condition and makes it more dangerous."

Insomnia, also known as sleep disorder, is
an increasingly common problem that can
seriously affect health if it persists. When
we are unable to get quality sleep, both the
body and mind are profoundly affected. If
this condition continues, it can lead to
serious consequences such as increased risk
of cardiovascular diseases, metabolic
disorders and diabetes, impaired brain
function, weakened immune system, and
even muscle atrophy and loss of
consciousness.

- According to a report from the Philippine
Department of Health, for every 10 people, 7
suffer from insomnia, and 80% of those
affected will develop chronic insomnia along
with associated conditions such as diabetes,
hypertension, and obesity. The majority of
those affected are over the age of 35, which
indicates an alarming situation as the
prevalence of the condition is very high, partly
due to the public's continued disregard for
common bouts of sleeplessness

- We were fortunate to meet and have an
interview with Dr. Deborah Bernardo about
chronic insomnia while he was teaching at
St. Luke's Medical Center.

"Dr. Deborah Bernardo shares insights on the
causes and dangers of insomnia, along with
methods to help individuals over 35 suffering
from chronic insomnia sleep soundly for 7-8
hours a day without worrying about difficulty
falling asleep or waking up too early."

Dr. Deborah Bernardo during a lecture at Philippine General Hospital

- Reporter:

Doctor, as a physician with 20 years of
experience in the neurology department and
a professor researching insomnia, what do
you think is the reason for the high rate of
insomnia in the Philippines?

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo:

I feel truly saddened and concerned to learn
that the Philippines has the second-highest
rate of chronic insomnia in the world,
second only to China.
Some objective reasons leading to this
situation:

  • Impact of Natural Disasters: The unique geographical location of the Philippines significantly contributes to chronic insomnia. As a country frequently affected by natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes, Filipinos not only suffer from the direct damages but also endure prolonged stress and insecurity.
  • High Proportion of Older Adults: Older adults are particularly vulnerable to chronic insomnia, which deeply worries me. After the age of 35, the human body undergoes numerous physiological, psychological, and social changes that can negatively affect sleep quality.
  • Economic Pressure: With poverty rates still high, many Filipinos work long hours or hold multiple jobs to make ends meet. These workers often face financial worries, concerns about food security, and providing education for their children, making it difficult for their minds to relax enough for quality sleep.
  • Unhealthy Lifestyle Habits: Excessive use of electronic devices at night, overconsumption of coffee or caffeine-laden drinks, and other unhealthy practices are also common contributors.
  • Lack of Awareness About the Importance of Sleep: Many people do not view sleep as an essential part of their overall health, leading them to ignore the signs of chronic insomnia or delay seeking proper treatment.
  • Improper Treatment Methods: Even today, many doctors and pharmacies simply recommend sleeping pills or temporary measures such as drinking tea or practicing yoga. While these may provide short-term relief, they ultimately prolong the condition and increase costs for the patient.

- Reporter:

Those are the general objective reasons for everyone, but what about the individual symptoms each person experiences when suffering from the condition?

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo:

Since each person has a different body and
underlying health conditions, please check
the following symptoms yourself:

  • Difficulty falling asleep: Having trouble starting to sleep or taking a long time to fall asleep.
  • Waking up during the night: Waking up multiple times during the night and being unable to return to sleep.
  • Waking up too early: Getting up too early and unable to go back to sleep.
  • Shallow sleep: Experiencing light sleep, easily awakened by noise or light.
  • Feeling tired: Feeling fatigued and exhausted in the morning despite getting enough sleep.
  • Mood changes: Feeling easily irritable, anxious, or depressed.
  • Reduced concentration: Having difficulty concentrating, remembering things, or making decisions.
  • Daytime drowsiness: Experiencing feelings of drowsiness or lethargy during the day, affecting daily activities.
  • Headaches: Frequently experiencing headaches, especially in the morning.
  • Digestive issues: Experiencing symptoms such as indigestion or stomach discomfort due to stress and anxiety.
  • Arrhythmia: May feel like the heart is beating fast or irregularly

If you have 2 of the symptoms I mentioned
above, you are 100% likely to have chronic
insomnia. Don’t be complacent, insomnia is
much more dangerous than you think. Find
a way to treat it as soon as possible.

- Reporter:

I went to a small pharmacy near my house,
and the pharmacist told me that insomnia
isn't dangerous and gave me a bottle of
sleeping pills called "Unisom." I’m still using it
daily.

- Reporter:

Really? If that's the case, then I must have
chronic insomnia as well. I find it very difficult
to fall asleep at night, and when I do manage
to sleep, I wake up very early and can't fall
back asleep. It leaves me feeling tired and
irritable.

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo:

That's right, have you used any methods to
treat your insomnia?

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo:

"The salesperson is just trying to take your
money without considering the consequences.
Sleeping pills will only make your insomnia
worse. As a doctor, I lived with insomnia for a
year, and it drained my health and finances,
even affecting my ability to concentrate and
practice medicine. If you think insomnia isn't
dangerous, think again – it can lead to serious
conditions like heart disease, memory loss,
and even stroke.
Believe me on this: stop using sleeping pills.
Instead, try the new non-drug method
recommended by the Department of Health.
This treatment method offers high GABA
content, which helps calm the stress and
anxiety in the central nervous system, allowing
you to achieve deep, restful sleep naturally."

- Reporter:

The doctor means that I should go to the
hospital for a check-up, right? I don't have
enough money to afford the services there.

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo:

Of course not. You don’t need to go to the
hospital once you know what your condition
is. In fact, I recommend not buying medication
at the hospital because there is a new, more
cost-effective method that is easy to use and
highly effective, which Dr. Eric Tayag shared
on TV last month.

- Dr. Eric Tayag shares on TV:

"Most people suffering from chronic
insomnia often face a deficiency of GABA
(Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid), an essential
component in supporting sleep. GABA is an
inhibitory neurotransmitter that plays a role
in reducing stress and anxiety by calming the
central nervous system. When GABA levels in
the body are low, individuals tend to feel
anxious and find it difficult to relax, leading
to insomnia. Currently, the only natural way
to boost GABA levels is through the
nutritional supplement OLLY GUMMIES,
recently introduced by the DOH"

OLLY GUMMIES launch meeting

- Reporter:

It’s OLLY GUMMIES, right? I’ve heard this
product is from the U.S., but I don’t
understand why it’s not a medication yet
works so effectively.

- Dr. Deborah Bernardo has explained the
ingredients and benefits of Olly Gummies.:

100% natural ingredients: Olly Gummies contains Phyto-Melatonin, GABA, Nattokinase, Chamomile, Passion Flower, Lemon Balm, Magnesium, Lysine. Vitamins and antioxidants help promote sleep naturally without causing side effects.

The most important ingredient is Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), which has the effect of preventing the transmission of stress and anxiety to the central nervous system. Discovered by scientists in 1950 as an indispensable part of the central nervous
system in the human brain.
As people age, the natural aging process leads to a decrease in GABA production, affecting brain function and sleep. Continuous stress and anxiety inhibits GABA production. Malnutrition: A diet lacking in nutrients needed to produce GABA, such as vitamin B6, can reduce GABA levels in the body.

When there is a GABA deficiency, the body often experiences fatigue, insomnia, stress, depression, mood swings... increasing the risk of stroke.
Now GABA is available in the special preparation OLLY GUMMIES.
When you use Sleepal Gold before going to bed, GABA will quickly penetrate into the bloodstream and attach to a protein in the brain called the GABA receptor, which will create a calming effect on the nervous system, helping to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress, and quickly fall asleep. GABA also prevents seizures and brain damage, and prevents movement disorders, a common symptom in Parkinson's patients. Gaba also helps relieve pain in chronic diseases such as spinal degeneration... Therefore, if you are suffering from chronic diseases such as bone and joint pain, you can also sleep well after use OLLY SLEEP GUMMIES. In addition to the nervous system, GABA also promotes insulin production in the pancreas. Sebaceous cells secrete GABA along with insulin and will fight diabetes.
The next important ingredient is Nattokinase (fermented soybeans), an enzyme originating from Japan. The benefits of Nattokinase are enormous. It helps improve cardiovascular health, dissolves blood clots, and helps prevent strokes and heart attacks.

According to statistics: the rate of elderly people having a stroke while sleeping is higher than 80%, especially those over 65 years old. This is an age group that is susceptible to blood vessel damage and has a poorer brain circulation regulation mechanism than normal. Strokes while sleeping often occur due to factors such as high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular problems. Therefore, supplementing Nattokinase before bed is essential for a good night's sleep and waking up feeling refreshed the next morning. The Japanese have long known how to supplement Nattokinase to increase longevity. And today we see great results when the Japanese have held the record for longevity for many years. The average life expectancy of Japanese people is very high. And living to 100 years old is very normal for Japanese people.
The ingredients in Sleepal Gold Colostrum include Taurine, an important amino acid that plays an essential role in the human body.

Brain function: Taurine supports the development and maintenance of the central nervous system. Cardiovascular function: Taurine has a protective effect on the heart, helping to improve the function of the heart muscle and regulate the heart rate. Metabolism: Taurine participates in metabolic processes, helps regulate blood sugar and supports liver function. Immune system: Taurine plays an important role in supporting the immune system, helping to fight pathogens and protect cells from damage.
OLLY SLEEP GUMMIES is produced on a US technological line with a special formula, complying with GMP and FDA standards, ensuring the highest nutritional content, supporting comprehensive health and improving sleep quality. The product is FDA certified as safe and can be used for many people of different ages. OLLY SLEEP GUMMIES has an Blackberry Zen flavor, helping users easily integrate into their daily routine without feeling uncomfortable.

Rapid effectiveness in the first week of use helps users easily feel sleepy and have a deeper sleep.

There are 3 things you need to know
before using OLLY Gummies

1.Treatment regimen for each specific
condition.

- As recommended by the DOH, individuals
over 37 years old suffering from chronic
insomnia and related conditions such as
diabetes, joint pain, high cholesterol, and high
blood pressure should follow a treatment plan
of 3 to 5 jars, taking 2 servings per day. For
those with chronic insomnia lasting over 4
months accompanied by fatigue, a regimen of
6 to 10 jars is advised. Strict adherence to the
prescribed treatment plan will ensure the best
results.

2. OLLY Sleep Gummies is not sold in pharmacies.
- Olly Gummies can effectively cure insomnia in just a few uses, and it even enhances overall health by lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. This means people would no longer need sleeping pills or related medications. Consequently, pharmacies and sellers who profit from these medications would be directly impacted, as they would lose out on sales, which they would naturally find undesirable

3. OLLY Sleep Gummies is produced in very limited quantities and must be pre-ordered.
- Partly because the product contains a high
concentration of GABA and other rare
ingredients, combined with Europe’s strict
production standards, the quantity produced is
limited. The primary reason you need to
register to place an order is to prevent
fraudsters and resellers from exploiting the
product and selling it at inflated prices.

Research results during treatment with
OLLY GUMMIES on 3000 people with
insomnia

  • 99% of users overcame insomnia.
  • 98% were able to fall into a deep sleep.
  • 90% saw reductions in blood sugar and blood pressure levels, returning to normal.
  • 93% experienced relief from joint and headache-related pain.
  • 91% improved cardiovascular function and reduced memory loss.
  • 100% reported an overall improvement in their health after using the product

In response to the "Sleep for Health"
campaign, the Philippine Department of
Health (DOH) has collaborated with
Manila Doctors Hospital to reduce the
price of the product. This partnership aims
to make the product more accessible,
particularly for those in difficult financial
situations, thereby improving their quality
of life. This effort reflects the belief that
everyone deserves the benefits of a good
night's sleep.
